Deviation Actions
Had a bit of a setback with the new animations. It's all a learning process. I'm moving on to other things for now.
Working on refining code for various features. Also, started on the environment for the first level. I tried my hand at a modular design, but quickly realized that I have no idea what I'm doing. To get the right visual effect, I've decided to split the levels into sections and create each section separately. A semi-modular approach, I suppose. I'll see how that goes.
Trying to stay optimistic about my September deadline, though I'm historically bad at meeting deadlines, even the self-imposed ones.

Resolutions 2018
Deep Space was pushed to the back-burner for the holidays. I've been working on something for my girlfriend, which, unfortunately, wasn't ready in time for Christmas. I'll post a picture once it's finished.
I'm gonna dive back into the game. I think I'll work on some mechanics for a while and hold off on Blender animation for now.
I may need to reassess what I actually have done so far in this (third?) iteration of my project.
What I really need is to work through my distractions and get things done.
Hopefully, I can be working on levels by the end of the year, if not sooner.

Well, I have successfully - mostly painlessly - updated my computer hardware; motherboard, CPU, and RAM. I hope to update my graphics card next, though I may need to replace my hard drive before that.
Side note: If you ever plan on replacing your own motherboard, make sure to deactivate your OS on the old one first. X(
Anyway, I've started rigging my new astronaut model. I hope to have that done and imported into Unity by the end of the week. Once that's ready I'll start on animating and texturing. It's been slow going learning Blender, but I think I'm getting the hang of it.

August/September
I took a much needed week-long vacation. Spent a weekend in the mountains with my girlfriend to catch the solar eclipse. It's an amazing sight; definitely worth experiencing at least once if you ever get the opportunity. I may even have the opportunity to see the next, annular, eclipse over the US in seven years. Time to start planning.
In other news; one of my resolutions for this year was to indulge my creativity more. I've managed to do that somewhat, but I'm hoping to start pushing myself more. I have some game-related designs to work on as well as some other ideas that belong outside my head.

Deep Space update ... June
After an unintentional hiatus, I'm getting back into development.
This past week I was working on implementing a character mechanic that's fairly common, though fairly new to me, and has probably taken longer to work out that it should have. Essentially, I was focused on coding only to determine that what I need is more animations. So, I have to get back into that. First I want to go back to the model and make some updates - I may just end up recreating it from scratch - to make it more flexible and accommodating for animation. Then, I need to go back to what I have and see if I can fix it and make improvements.
